Lecture 1:            Art Think
The problems that keep you up at night aren’t the easy ones.  In fact, what keeps you up at night might well be hidden, intangible or unexpressed.  Problems that require drawing on one’s best creative sensibility. Often the most significant discoveries are those that emerge from thinking outside the box.  Not as easy as it sounds.
This lecture unpeels the nature of ArtThink via survey of both personal and curated works at the intersection of art and technology that illuminate the relationship between creativity and innovation.
Lecture 2:  Expanding Vision
This lecture explores innovative artworks that challenge us to think about the importance of ‘being creative’ in all that we do, the role of being trans-disciplinary, and the need for directed play.   Outcomes from the workshops will be presented.

Workshops
Day one and two are sequential in terms of building on a process.   It is recommended that participants enjoy both.
Workshop 1:  You Don’t See What You Don’t See
Being deeply creative requires letting go of assumptions so as to encourage a shift in awareness and perspective.
Three facilitated exercises will introduce how expectation often influence what is perceived (sight and sound) and how creativity opens the mind to new possibilities.  A surprisingly fun technology that requires interpretation as to function is introduced to challenge the imagination, encourage play, and experimentation setting the stage for Day 2 Workshop.
Workshop 2: What is it?
This workshop is focused on thinking outside the box and being creative for creativities sake.   Participants will make an original highly personalized sculpture as nest or cradle for the technology introduced in Workshop produced from a vast array of electronic components, misc. hardware, lab supplies, and natural materials.  The goal is to emphasize what open-ended creativity looks like.  No electronic experience is necessary.
